Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A query entered into a search box is delivered to the outside company that operates that tool. The provider processes the entry and supplies its results. We do not keep or record those search terms on our own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you email us, the message is retained as needed to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers can receive ordinary technical and usage information when a page loads:
- Your device's Internet Protocol address
- Browser type and version
- Operating system and device category
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- A referring website, when one exists
- The time of each visit
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files that help measure site use, such as popular pages and common exit points. Analytics providers aggregate that traffic information. You may block cookies through your browser, though some functions may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
Collected data supports the operation of the resource. It may be used for these purposes:
- Maintaining reliable and timely page delivery
- Routing a search request to the selected provider
- Understanding which material visitors use
- Diagnosing errors and technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Young County Criminal History does not build, keep, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to records held by the Young County Sheriff's Office, court clerks, Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Records Division, and Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Texas Government Code Sections 411.083 and 411.135 govern the confidentiality and authorized public dissemination of state criminal-history information. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor information is not assembled into a consumer report or a file about another person.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Their privacy terms, retention rules, and sharing practices govern information submitted to those tools. We do not control those practices, so review the selected provider's policy before entering a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Young County offices, Texas agencies, courts, and outside services. Once you leave this website, the destination's privacy policy controls the visit. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own technology to measure activity across websites and tailor ads. That processing occurs on provider systems.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:
- Providers that process a search you choose to submit
- Analytics vendors that measure traffic and performance
- Advertising networks serving content on the pages
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for information under our control. No internet system can be guaranteed secure, however, and we cannot promise that a breach or unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such information, we will remove it promptly.
Your Data Rights
Applicable privacy and consumer-protection law, including the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act in Business and Commerce Code Chapter 17, may provide rights based on the facts and a visitor's residence. At minimum, you may:
- Request access to personal data we retain about you
- Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
- Request deletion of retained personal information
- Opt out of processing when applicable law provides that choice
The Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, governs public information held by Texas governmental bodies. It does not turn this private website into a government records custodian.
